5 Restaurants to Try in Broad Ripple

The other day I noticed there are certain restaurants in Broad Ripple I visit on a consistent basis. If family or friends come in town I tend to think of these eateries first. The affordability, proximity, and atmosphere make these my top favorite places to eat in Broad Ripple.

Broad Ripple restaurants

Donut Shop: I don’t know how many Saturday mornings I have found myself with a full belly at The Donut Shop. Talk about a steal! You can order a traditional breakfast for half the price you would pay at a chain restaurant. Of course the donuts selection is overwhelmingly wonderful and the bubble tea seems to be pretty popular too. Oh! Don’t forget your cash. This one doesn't accept credit cards, but it's totally worth the trip to the ATM.

HopCat: HopCat is one of the newest additions to my favorites list.  Known for their extensive beer selection and juicy burgers, this bar is a fun place to catch up with friends.  My absolute favorite item on the menu has to be the crack fries. I’m not sure what kind of seasoning they use on those spuds, but it’s absolutely delicious! Be sure to order a side of cheese dip with your fries. You won’t be sorry.

Moe and Johnny’s: This pub is Nic and I’s go-to spot for late weeknight dinners. When I don’t feel like cooking, we will head down to Moe and Johnny’s. The BBQ chicken pizza is to die for and the drink specials are always a plus. It's also fun to play a couple games of pool after a long day.

Monon Food Company: A little further north into Broad Ripple, you’ll find The Monon Food Company. This local restaurant has an intimate feel and a killer menu.  I recommend the rice and bean burrito. It’s fresh and light, but still quite filling. I can’t wait until the weather warms up so we can bike here for lunch on the weekends.

Cafe Patachou: I love the atmosphere at this hot spot. Every element of this restaurant is chic and modern with a hint of french flair. This is the perfect catch-up-with-your-girlfriends kind of cafe complete with delicious soups and salads.

Next time you are in the Indianapolis area, give one of these restaurants a try. Any must-see restaurants in your part of town that I should try?
