Makeup Bag Favorites

Each morning, I find myself reaching for these products more than absolutely anything else in my makeup bag.

makeup bag items

Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Lotion | Keeping my skin moisturized during this dry, cold winter is a must and you can't go wrong with the classic vanilla scent.

MAC Studio Fix Foundation | This was my first MAC purchase and I was not disappointed. It covers so evenly without being too heavy.

Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara | Talk about lashes! Complete with Natural Fibers and Transplanting Gel, this mascara lengthens my eyelashes like crazy. I never want to go back to drug store mascara again!

Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal | I love this lip balm for so many reasons. It's a step up from regular chap stick with a slight pinkish tint.

Ecotools Bamboo Blush Brush | I use this as a blush and foundation brush. I picked it up at Kroger one day because I was in desperate need of a foundation brush. Turned out to be a good purchase.

CoverGirl Clean Foundation | This is my absolute favorite item! I use this liquid foundation as a concealer and have used it for the past five years. I haven't found anything I like better.

What are some of your makeup must-haves?

To the "I Don't Care" Girl

We are all too familiar with responding "I don't care" to simple questions.

Where do you want to eat? I don't care. Do you want me to come over? I don't care. What should we do tonight? I don't care.

I know I know, you are trying to be the chill girlfriend, the laid back co-worker, or the family member that "goes with the flow"... right?

Here's the thing, constantly throwing around the phrase "I don't care" is the easiest way to declare yourself indifferent. It's almost like saying, "Don't worry about me, what I think, or how I feel, ever."

And people listen. They listen.

Next thing you know, no one will bother to ask for your opinion or preference. Why? Because you don't care, remember? The problem is, you actually do care, or at least you will once you realize your input is being overlooked time and time again.

I've caught myself being the "I don't care" girl. It's true, being the IDC Girl keeps you out of conflicts, keeps other people happy, and is an easy way to make friends. It is also the easiest way to lose who you are as a person.

Being an adult is about branching away from being the IDC Girl, about forming your own opinions and not being afraid to share them.

Next time "I don't care" wants to come falling out of your mouth. Stop. Think. Decide what you really want, then speak up. It's much more beneficial for you, your relationships, and your professional life, if you truly DO care and say so.
